Lisa v. The State of California

Lisa  was driving with her daughter on I-580 in the City of Dublin when a van driving on the other side of the highway lost control and crossed over the median divide and struck Lisa's car head-on. Lisa suffered a serious head injury. Lisa's daughter suffered relatively minor injuries that included a fractured rib.

Not only did our law firm sue the negligent driver, but our investigation revealed that, the highway was undergoing construction and this contributed to the driver losing control. We also discovered that the median divide was a cable barrier, which was outdated, dangerous and did nothing to prevent an out of control car crossing over a median divide.

*Note: The reason the check amounts are lower than the settlement amount is that a portion of the settlement was used to purchase a "structured settlement" that paid Lisa's daughter (a minor) the sum of $151,406.00 and $214,417.00 when she turned 21 and 25.
