On July 16, 2019, Mr. Cruz was riding his motorcycle in American Canyon when a negligent driver ran a red light and hit him. Mr. Cruz suffered multiple broken bones, including a severely fractured ankle that required surgery and a fractured femur that required surgery. 

This case settled for $1.25M.  Note: $190,000 was paid directly to Equian, a collection agency for the hospital bills.
