Ancheta v. lyttle

$360k

Mr. Ancheta was driving down the street when he was broadsided by a car coming out of a parking lot.  Mr. Ancheta fractured his neck. The careless driver's policy limit was $250,000, but his insurance company turned down our "policy limits" demand of $250,000.  In certain circumstances, if an insurance company turns down a policy limits demand, this will "open up" their policy, meaning that the policy limits no longer apply.  We were able to convince the insurance company that they opened up their policy and settled the case for $360,000.
